People vs. Larsen has offered an innovative voice in the indie/blues music scenes in New York since 2012, captivating audiences with their live performances at renowned venues like Sleep No More, The Black Cat, and the Brooklyn Bowl. Emanating from a wide breath of influence centered around the blues, People vs. Larsen delivers a musical experience which infuses blues, rock, jazz and indie music, and gives audiences a powerful, soulful and uplifting experience.

Tom Larsen

Tom, a seasoned musician and the driving force behind People vs. Larsen, wears multiple hats: bandleader, composer, and producer. Since forming the band in 2011, he's captivated audiences internationally, performing across the US, Mexico, Europe, and even the Middle East, including Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha. His journey began at SUNY Purchase, where he studied under the renowned jazz guitarist John Abercrombie, graduating from the Jazz Studies Program. The blues and Jimi Hendrix remain strong influences in his sound, which sees him collaborating with local blues legend, Saron Crenshaw.

Spencer Murphy

Spencer Murphy graduated from SUNY Purchase in 2010 where he studied the double bass with Doug Weiss and history with Arturo O'Farrill. Since moving to NYC, he's performed with bands led by Tivon Pennicott, Aaron Parks, Myron Walden, Kenneth Salters, Melissa Aldana, Joel Frahm, and Ari Hoenig. For nearly a decade, Spencer has toured the U.S. and Europe with RnB vocalist Gabriel Garzon-Montano. He lives in Brooklyn where he maintains an active teaching studio.

Dave Tedeschi

Dave is a member of many different ensembles including People Vs. Larsen and Postmodern Jukebox. Dave has performed internationally including The Roundhouse in London, Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the Dubai International Jazz Festival and the Athens Music Festival.

Todd Caldwell

Todd Caldwell is a New York City based piano and Hammond organ player. Originally from Texas, Todd is from a family of musicians and grew up in his father's recording studio. He has toured extensively over the last 10 years, most notably the 60's folk rock icons Crosby, Stills and Nash. In New York, in addition to recording and teaching, he can be heard playing with a variety of artists ranging from country to jazz. Todd is also a student of acclaimed jazz musician Sam Yahel.
